Today’s Super Bowl coverage brings us to the topic of food.  This is near and dear to my heart (and stomach) and something that the Just Average Sports Guys take very seriously.  When comparing the cuisine of each of the team’s regions, it is very clear, that New England cuisine reigns superior.  Upon first glance, you may think immediately of seafood.  We all know New England is known for it’s fantastic seafood, however New England is famous for much more than Seafood.  I have put together a complete menu below that ranges from beverages to seafood to specialties, to desert (my personal favorite).

Just Average Sports Guys Presents

”New England Eats”

Cranberry Juice – with cranberries being largely produced in New England, feed your kidneys with this drink.

Bottled “Spring” Water – Poland Springs, Aquafina, and Dasani all are produced with New England water.

Samuel Adams – New England’s favorite beer. Famous for its many seasonal varieties.

Moxie – America’s first mass-produced soft drink and New England’s favorite carbonated drink.

Dunkin Donuts – America’s “favorite” coffee was birthed here.

Apple Cider – With its many apple orchards, this is a popular fall beverage of choice.

Clam Chowder – New England Clam Chowder, need we say more.

Cod – Nothing like fresh cod fish right from the Cape!

Lobster Roll – Lobster, mayo, roll. A great sandwich anytime.

“Steamers” – Also referred to as steamed clams. Add some melted butter and you are good to go.

Sides & Specialties

Maple Syrup – New England is a huge producer of this sweet, tasty ingredient, that makes any breakfast item better.

Kettle Cooked Potato Chips – Crispier and more flavorful than your average chip.

Fluffernutter Sandwiches – Made famous by New Englanders.

Baked Beans – Where do you think Boston got its nickname, “Beantown.”

Whoopie Pie – The official state treat of Maine.

Boston Cream Pie – The perfect New England dessert to complete a fantastic meal.

If it wasn’t obvious to you before, it should now be perfectly clear, that New England has the better eats over Atlanta any day.  In honor of today’s winner, and due to it being colder here in the North East, and depending on where you are located, you may have some snow, I encourage you to go and grab a delicious bowl of New England Clam Chowder.
